About Us
The Buijo Foundation is an organization that furthers the education of the underprivileged children in the historic Buijo section of Ecuador. The Buijo is one of the poorest neighborhoods in Ecuador. The foundation was started by James H. Pasch Jr. Read a letter from James Pasch about the project.
Attending public school in the Buijo is culturally optional and often the schools are closed because the teachers are not paid. The Buijo Foundation for some is the only place children can use computers and develop basic and advanced skills in a safe and friendly environment.
Since, the school has opened, enrollment has surged to over 100 students. The children line-up outside the school at 7:30 am, a full 30 minutes before the school doors open. The program has created an excitement for learning and education.
