School waiting list grows to 200 children. Fundraising drive will start April 1st with the hope that the added funds can hire more teachers and allow the foundation to rent more classroom space.
December 2007
School attendance grows to 100 students with a 100 students on a waiting list.
November 2007
Buijo School expands by adding a second classroom for computer education and an outdoor facilities area for art and music classes. The expansion was necessitated due to the overwhelming demand by local children.
June 2007
Buijo Foundation school opens June 2007 with a new facility that was build specifically for the project. The initial schoolroom was designed to accommodate 30 students.
Note: The photo on the right shows the children's shoes that are taken off before they enter the classroom. There is no running water in the Buijo. Residents shower in public areas and animals run free in the town so their shoes can be very dirty.
